My daughter and her family came from America
to visit us this week and we spent a couple days in Tokyo first. When we arrived
in Matsuyama she and her family were surprised at all the wonderful new things
to see these days. There are many new shops and stores, of course, the new
Ropeway street and the new ropeway entrance to Matsuyama Castle and the Botchan
Engine. My grandson is just three-years-old and he was so very happy to see and
hear that engine and couldn’t wait to ride in it! It was hard to convince him
that we couldn’t ride it everywhere we wanted to go.Today
we are going to the Botchan Stadium area to see all the new things there my
daughter hasn’t yet seen. It’s amazing to realize just how much has been
redone or renewed or upgraded and changed since she was last here five years
ago.

In
fact, when we woke up today we spent about two hours trying to figure out how to
separate and organize our garbage. Now that it is April, even that part of
Matsuyama’s life style is new and changing?and it’s the one change that will
take some getting used to!
