Sumo Wrestling has been for decades regarded
outside Japan as a pretty unusual sport. However, as more foreigners participate
it is gaining acceptance and credibility. Any other weird sports in Japan? In
Australia, we have two unusual sports: camel racing, and boat racing (this is
unusual because it takes place in the desert thousands of kilometers from water;
the boats are powered by people running).Other unusual sports from around the
world: In England, ditch snorkeling, where people don wet suits and snorkels and
swim along courses laid out among the muddy drainage ditches of the countryside.

In
Ireland, there is road bowling, where contests lob a 1kg bowl along a country
road for up to 4km and must be wary of passing cars. In New Zealand there is
zorbing, where contests roll down a hill encased in a giant PVC ball. And in
France, Parkour, where the participant runs, climbs, leaps and vaults around the
city streets trying to pass obstacles in the fastest and most direct manner
possible. Which one will you try?
