I
recently visited a really fantastic onsen in Hojo with an open-air bath with
views out over the ocean. I laid back and watched the sun set as the ships
sailed through the inland sea. I was totally at peace and at that time I thought
I could happily live my whole life as a local Japanese fisherman! I’ve been to
many onsen all around Japan, and many different kinds (salt, mud, sand,
electric) but I would have to say this was the best onsen experience I have had
so far.

The
visit also reminded me how beautiful the Seto Inland Sea is and how it is easy
to forget / ignore this when you spend most of your time in the city. The sea
air is very fresh right now so take some time to refresh yourself by the sea!
